On Thursday, July 21, 2016, Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics celebrated 34 years of “Growing Leaders” and to honor the leadership and accomplishments of individuals and organizations that exemplify LEAP’s mission to achieve full participation and equality for Asian and Pacific Islanders (API) through leadership, empowerment, and policy.
Over 325 guests attended the event, enjoying an evening that included a silent auction, dinner, and networking opportunities. The gala program began with welcoming speeches from LEAP Board Chair, Kenneth Chung, and LEAP President and CEO, Linda Akutagawa. This year's gala fundraised an amazing amount of over $45,000 during the Bid For Empowerment, an auction to raise money for LEAP's community programs.
