Session 1: Understanding Self and Others

1) Understanding Your Leadership Style
Presenter: LEAP Staff

Participants will be introduced to a 4-style leadership model and explore the strengths and weaknesses of each style.  This workshop will enlighten participants on how to leverage the strengths of their style of leadership as well as learn to work effectively with those of other styles.

Session 2: Getting Things Done

1)  How Did You Get Your Start?
Presenter: Student and Community Leaders

Participants will hear from a panel of young professionals who were involved in student leadership during their undergraduate careers.  The panelists will share about how they started their involvement on campus, insights on campus leadership, and reflections on what that experience meant to them both personally and professionally.

 

2) Funding and Budgeting
Panel: College Administrators

Administrators from Public, Private, and Community colleges will share insights on how to find funding on campus, how to stay funded, and how to work with administration to make that happen.

 

3) Organizational Health
Presenter: Community Leaders

Students will be exposed to methods of evaluating the health of their organization as a way to make sure their organization has the greatest impact possible on campus.  Participants will be empowered not only with methods of measurement, but solutions to common problems.

Session 3: Looking Ahead

1) Managing Leadership Transition
Presenter: Community Leaders

Many student organizations struggle with continuity and sustained impact when key leadership graduates or leaves an organization.  This workshop will share strategies and principles that will enable students leading and participating in organizations to not only deal with leadership transition but also make their organizations stronger in the process.

 

2) Membership: Community and Quantity
Presenter: Community and Non-Profit Leaders

Students will learn from Community and Non-Profit Leaders about what strategies and practices have allowed those leaders to create organizations built on strong communities and large followings.

 

3)  Getting From Here to There
Presenter: Community Leaders

Students and Student Organizations are often full of great plans, but do not know where to start or how to execute those plans.  This workshop will empower students to create a strong vision for the future and act constructively to meet that vision.
