About The Leadership Simulation

LEAP's Leadership Simulation challenges participants to navigate high-stakes scenarios with limited time and resources.

Through an interactive decision-making game, teams face real-world dilemmas that test their ability to balance retention, resources, and productivity under pressure.

Without upfront planning or full information, teams often create new obstacles instead of solutions, a pattern that reveals just how much strategic thinking, communication, and collaboration matter when the pressure is on. The simulation mirrors the urgency of real crises, like disaster response, where nonprofit leaders must act quickly to support their communities while keeping their organizations running.

Developed in partnership with Jess Ayden Li, LEAP Engage co-facilitator and Founder/Principal Consultant of Justice and Logic LLC, the Leadership Simulation gives participants tangible skills and insights they can carry back into their own leadership.

How it Works

Most leadership training happens in the abstract: case studies, lectures, personality assessments read and discussed, then set aside. LEAP's simulations put teams inside a live, interconnected system instead, where every decision ripples across other teams, resources are genuinely scarce, and success depends on negotiation rather than authority.

Participants step into one shared system divided among five interconnected sector teams, each with its own goals and constraints. Over multiple rounds, teams make real decisions that build on the consequences of the last. At the center is a shared, limited resource that every team depends on but no single team controls. A live tracker shows results in real time, so participants feel the ripple effects of their choices as they happen, not later in a debrief. Guided by a facilitator, teams negotiate every move, and nothing changes hands unless someone is persuaded rather than told.

Current Offerings

The system underneath every session is the same a shared pipeline, a scarce resource, and five teams who each see only part of the board. Narrative and learning emphasis are both fully customizable to your audience.
